The land of the Angels is coming to life once again as the Falcons will play a preseason game at the University of Houston in 2018.
The team announced Thursday it will open a training facility for players and coaches and host the team’s first game there in 2019.
“It’s really exciting, because the NFL is a great place to play and the city of Houston is great as well,” Falcons general manager David Caldwell said.
“The people are amazing.
They really make the Falcons one of the greatest organizations in the league.”
The Falcons will be at the facility for the first time since 2010, when they opened their new stadium in an effort to become the NFL’s first domed stadium.
The Falcons opened their training facility in 2019 in conjunction with the University Hospitals of Houston, a nonprofit medical center.
They are owned by the Texas A&M University System, which also owns the University at Buffalo, which played at the new stadium.
