New York — The man in the red jumpsuits is heading to the runway.
That’s because he’s a pilot for United Airlines.
United is a passenger carrier.
It has been an unusual flight for the New York City-bound pilot, whose name was not released because he has not yet been charged.
He landed on a runway at Terminal 3 at JFK Airport on Saturday afternoon.
A spokesperson for United confirmed the pilot is a United pilot.
United said in a statement that the pilot has been issued an airline boarding pass and is expected to arrive at JFK around 3:00 p.m.
The pilot is expected be interviewed by the FBI.
The United spokesperson said the pilot will be able to board an aircraft in New York.
The plane is expected back to JFK Airport later this afternoon.
